H.R. 4777 Ensures Accountability
We joined 38 organizations from around the country in signing a letter supporting H.R. 4777, important legislation before Congress that will prevent corporations like Johnson & Johnson from abusing bankruptcy laws to escape accountability and cheat victims. Accountability through our civil justice system is absolutely essential for safety. Abusing the bankruptcy courts deprives civil juries from being able to enforce safety rules that protect all of us.
Our laws should be respected, not manipulated by large corporations for their benefit, leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces. You can read the letter here.
