We Need Safe Roads
Trucking companies kill too many Texans!

Texas has the deadliest roads in the country. Tragically, we have led the nation in large truck crashes since 2017. Dangerous trucking companies steal hundreds of Texans’ lives each year. Instead of working to make our roads safer, trucking lobbyists are back at the State Capitol this year, pushing lawmakers for more special privileges under the law.
In 2021, commercial vehicle lobbyists got a bill through the Texas Legislature that creates a special two-part trial for wrongdoers accused of killing or injuring Texans on our roads. Since that time, more than 3,200 Texans have been killed and more than 45,000 Texans have been injured by large trucks. The safety crisis on our roads is caused by the reckless and careless conduct of commercial vehicle companies, which prioritize their profits over our lives.
Instead of cleaning up their act, trucking industry lobbyists are back with their hands out at the Capitol, trying to make it even harder for injured Texans to introduce evidence and prove their case in court. We don’t need more legal hurdles for those who are hurt through no fault of their own. We need access to justice and the ability to hold wrongdoers fully accountable under the law. Individuals enforcing our safety rules in court send a message to bad actors, helping to protect all of our families on our roads.
Take one minute to tell your lawmakers to OPPOSE SB 39, SB 1135 & HB 4688! Texans need safe roads, not special interest giveaways for dangerous commercial vehicle companies!
